School Bus Driver

Full time, hours varied.

Primary Purpose: - Responsible for safe operation of school buses. - Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order. - Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner. - Drive gasoline, diesel, or electrically powered multi-passenger vehicles to transport students between neighborhoods, schools, and school activities. - Escort small children across roads and highways. - Follow safety rules as students board and exit buses or cross streets near bus stops.

Qualifications: - High School Diploma or Equivalent GED or

Two years previous school bus driving experience.

• Texas CDL (Class B) with Passenger and School Bus Endorsement.
• TEA driver certification.
• Acceptable driving record.
• Ability to read and understand English.
• DOT physical/Drug screening.
• Pass District Physical Performance Test.
• AISD Special Ed Training Course (Special Ed Drivers.)

-No previous experience required.

Special Knowledge/Skills: - Demonstrate complete physical control and operation of school buses. - Facilitate student management while operating school bus. - Strong communication, public relations, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Must pass Drug screen and Background Check. Due to the nature of employer business, company policy requires that candidates having criminal background or convictions will not be considered for employment.
