Eaton Corporation System Architect in Peachtree City, Georgia

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a System Architect. The System Architect will support Eaton's Home Energy Management portfolio in the Connected Solutions Business. This is a remote role that must be located within the United States.

The System Architect provides leadership in formulation and design of new product development and product enhancements/new features for existing product for the Home Energy Management product line within the Connected Solutions business unit. This employee translates high level product requirements into specific engineering requirements. This role drives the alignment of product requirements between the Product and Engineering teams.

As the System Architect you will work closely with the Connected Solutions Engineering team and ARS product line teams to drive customer solutions and innovation. The System Architect will have an excellent knowledge of Energy Storage Systems, Communication protocols, and general power systems knowledge. Additionally, you will be able to communicate with both technical and nontechnical audiences at all levels within the organization, including Senior Leadership.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $91500.03 - $134200.04 a year.

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with the Technical Product Manager and Engineering team to refine technical requirements for the AbleEdge ecosystem.

  • For innovation and new product development, lead and develop the technical requirements in alignment with the Technical Product Manager.

  • Create system drawings for customer use cases to provide to engineering.

  • Work closely with the Technical Product Manager in strategic planning and the development of the product line strategic plan.

  • Understand competitor systems and partner DER systems.

  • Be an expert in UL system standards as it relates to Home Energy Management Systems.

  • Stay up to date on relevant technical trends in the Home Energy Management System ecosystem.

  • Support the development and creation of technical specifications and other supporting materials (FAQ’s, troubleshooting guides, etc.).

  • Run alpha and beta test programs.

  • Travel as required in position (up to 50% in a year).

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in product management or engineering.

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering

  • Experience with communication protocols: Can bus, Ethernet, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.

  • Two (2) years’ experience with DER systems (energy storage, solar, backup generator)

  • Working knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC)

  • Ability to work effectively in team environment and independently. Ability to collaborate across a matrix organization and influence resources (that are not direct reports).

  • Excellent customer, presentation, and communication skills

  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability.

  • Strong learning agility and being able to apply this in challenging environments goals.

  • Must exhibit a willingness and ability to provide a leadership role within the department and motivate peers and team members.
