AMPI RELIEF MILK RECEIVING / LAB TECHNICIAN in Paynesville, Minnesota

Description AMPI owns seven Midwest-based manufacturing plants where 10 percent of the nation's American-type cheese, processed cheese and butter is produced. The cooperative's award-winning cheese, butter and powdered dairy products are marketed to foodservice, retail and food ingredient customers. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time: All AMPI employees have an obligation to report employee safety, food safety and food quality issues to personnel of authority. This position has a heightened food safety and food quality responsibilities. Responsible for product receiving & shipments. Assures the proper scaling, sampling, testing of product including milk tests such as drip, tank or co: T.A., H2O, Bacteria, Bfat, Inhibitors. Conduct routine analysis on finished product samples according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and customer requirements, using lab instruments, proper laboratory techniques and following Good Laboratory Practices (GLP). Communicate out-of-specification product results to QA Manager. Keep organized laboratory records and files. Ensures compliance to procedures and work instructions. Ensures accurate documentation of laboratory and quality records in compliance with SOPs including storage and retrieval of records. Support laboratory activities to ensure that a high quality of products, services, housekeeping, and hygiene standards are maintained and improved in laboratory and other analytical areas. Supports laboratory compliance including calibration, equipment testing, etc. to Safe Quality Food (SQF) and AMPI requirements. Maintain recordkeeping & documentation such as load temp, silo filled, truck Clean in Place (CIP), receiving logs, testing logs and notifications, shipment records etc. Perform T.A.'s, Truck inhibitor screening, individual screenings, and cryoscope. Sanitation and cleaning of trucks, tanks, silos, lines, work areas, and maintain CIP systems. Performs and monitors the filling, storage, and agitation of milk holding silos. Assist with Lab or Cheesemaking employees or any other duties as required and directed. Comply with existing or future WDATCP, USDA, FDA, or other regulatory agency as required. Document and communicate production deficiencies to foremen and management. Report and communicate critical information during shift change overs. Continuously look for process improvement opportunities and effectively communicate to others. Assist with training new employees. Provides assistance to the maintenance personnel, when needed, for machine repairs or troubleshooting. Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
