Position: Accommodative Services Graduate Assistant
Status: Part-time, (20hrs/week)

Reports to: Coordinator of Accommodative Services
Start Date: Fall Semester 2025
Compensation: Stipend, Room, and Tuition
Stipend is $5000/semester and tuition scholarship is 100%, but students are responsible for program fees, including textbook fees charged each semester, and meals during residencies.
Description:
The Accommodative Services (AS) office at Paul Smith’s College (PSC) facilitates advocacy and accommodations to ensure equal access for students with documented disabilities for them to take control over their education, increasing independence and self-determination. All services are voluntary and provided in accordance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, and PSC’s guidelines. Students with disabilities are challenged to accept the freedom and responsibility of directing their own lives.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist the Coordinator with exam scheduling.
Monitor undergraduate exams.
Assist with the data recording, preparation of reports, filing, and photocopying/scanning.
Prepare and distribute written communication including letters, email, brochures, and flyers under the direction of the Coordinator.
Enter data using MS Suite including Word, Excel, Access, OneNote
Perform general office work, including acting as receptionist, answering telephones, greeting visitors, operating general office equipment, problem-solving as necessary.
Assist with other duties as needed, including driving vans to support academic programming, or assigned by the Coordinator of Accommodative Services.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution and enrollment in Paul Smith’s College Master’s degree programs.
Ability to work with a broad range of diverse individuals and groups to form a safe and inclusive campus community.
Must have an interest in directly supporting students.
Ability to effectively communicate with professional staff, students, and the general public.
Must agree to confidentiality.
Basic computer competency and a willingness to learn is a must. Some knowledge of MS Office Suite is preferred but not required.
Driver’s license and driving record acceptable to PSC insurance carrier is preferred.
