Fire Safety Systems

Join our innovative team as Hardware Engineering & Regulatory Approvals Senior Manager. This position will be based in Parsippany, New Jersey. Your expertise will contribute to the safety and well-being of communities worldwide, as you help us set new benchmarks in the industry and drive innovation in life-saving technologies. You’ll make a difference by:

  • Leading a passionate team of engineers in defining state-of-the-art, sustainable electronic designs, ensuring our fire safety hardware components not only meet but exceed industry standards.

  • Take ownership and drive rigorous testing and submissions for Regulatory Approvals (e.g. UL and FM Global) by navigating the complex world of fire safety product regulations and development processes.

  • Applying your problem-solving prowess to tackle the most challenging issues (design, manufacturing, obsolescence, and sustainability), collaborating with cross-functional teams to find effective solutions.

  • Serving as the vital link between our talented development team and esteemed external regulatory bodies, ensuring seamless communication and compliance.

  • Contributing to the strategic direction of Siemens by aiding in the creation of business plans that align with our long-term objectives, seamlessly integrating development initiatives with regulatory landscapes.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from an accredited institution, ensuring a strong technical expertise to drive our projects.

  • 5+ years in leading and inspiring engineering teams to excel and innovate.

  • Hands-on project experience with Underwriters' Laboratories (UL), showcasing a deep understanding of the rigorous standards and certification processes.

  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 5%), embracing the opportunity to engage with global teams and diverse technologies.

  • Current legal authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis, allowing for uninterrupted focus on achieving excellence without the need for company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A dynamic individual with a robust background in Fire Safety product design, tailored for the U.S. market.

  • Direct experience in conceptualizing and designing products specifically for the Fire Safety sector, ensuring compliance with U.S. standards and customer expectations.

  • A thorough understanding of the National Fire Protection Code (NFPA 72) and familiarity with the UL864 standard, demonstrating a commitment to upholding the highest safety regulations in our product designs.

  • Active involvement in the creation and refinement of Life Safety technical standards, with a history of collaborating both within our organization and with prestigious regulatory bodies on a global scale.

  • Your expertise will contribute to the safety and well-being of communities worldwide, as you help us set new benchmarks in the industry and drive innovation in life-saving technologies. Join us and play a crucial role in shaping a safer future.

  • The pay range for this position is $120,300 – $162,400. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
