Geron Corporation Associate Director, Medical Operations & Analytics in Parsippany, New Jersey
Position SummaryThe Associate Director, Medical Operations & Analytics drives operational and strategic excellence of Medical Affairs tools, resources, and key systems and processes in collaboration with the Medical Affairs Leadership Team and cross-functional partners in Commercial Operations, Clinical Development, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Translational Research, Compliance, and Legal. This position requires strong operational oversight and hands-on execution, ensuring alignment between medical strategies.Geron has two corporate headquarters in Foster City, CA and Parsippany, NJ. This position is remote, with occasional travel to corporate office in Parsippany for face-to-face meetings. The Associate Director reports to the Executive Director, Medical Affairs Strategy & Field Medical Excellence.Primary Responsibilities •Leverages Medical Affairs insights and data analytics to assist in the creation of a strategic medical plan and external stakeholder engagement strategies•Ensure cross-functional communication of medical affairs strategic plan execution through creation of a dashboard via collaborative identification of meaningful metrics / key performance indicators (KPI)’s that represent the value and impact of Medical Affairs•Coordinates with Commercial Operations and IT to manage relationships with vendors providing systems, data analytics, software, and consulting services; ensuring cost-effective and high-quality service delivery•Ensures Field Medical Excellence by functioning as operational owner of tools and processes (e.g. Customer Relationship Management (CRM), territory management tools, KOL/HCP Mapping, and KOL/Account engagement plans) designed to meet the needs of Field Medical Affairs teams through easy to operationalize reports and next best action alerts•Evolves CRM solution to better meet the needs of Geron•Serves as point for field medical CRM troubleshooting•Serves as a consulting advisor to field leadership, delivering analytics based on key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities to identify opportunities for improved productivity and business performance•Responsible for evolving medical insight coordination, data gathering, and reporting to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) advances•Collaborate and integrate processes with functional area peers to support investigator sponsored research (ISR)’s in a manner consistent with relevant policies and processes•Support operational efficiency of the medical information hub with integration to other key systems (CRM, PromoMats) and MIR (Medical Information Request) reporting•Proactively identifies opportunities to enhance systems and processes, driving continuous improvement and operational efficiency•Responsible for maintaining, updating and educating on field medical operational policies, ensuring activities are adherent to all internal policies and processes•Ensure compliance with regulatory, legal, and ethical guidelines in all Medical Affairs activities•Performs related duties as assignedCompetencies •Strong operational knowledge of medical affairs processes, including field medical insights, medical information, ISRs, and regulatory compliance•Proven enterprise mindset including innovative, solutions-oriented, critical thinking with a performance driven approach to meet current and anticipate future objectives and challenges•Excellent project management skills with attention to detail and solution-oriented mindset•Strong verbal and written communication skills•Strong understanding of compliance and the legal and regulatory landscapeExperience•Bachelor’s degree in a science, life science, computer science, data science, biomedical informatics, computational biology, business, or a related discipline; advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) preferred•At least 7 years of biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry experience; oncology/hematology therapeutic area preferred•At least 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Medical Operations, and/or Clinical Development; field medical experience is preferred•Operational experience with Veeva systems, Medical Information Systems, CRM, AI models, and similar softwareBenefit Statement:All regular-status, full-time employees of Geron are eligible to participate in the Company’s comprehensive benefit program, pursuant to plan terms and conditions. The salary ranges displayed below are only for those who, if selected for the role, will perform work in the specific locations listed. Please note the employment opportunity is not limited to these locations. General Salary Range: $175,000 to $188,000
