MetroHealth Clinical Specialist Pulmonary-Lifestyle Fitness/Rehab Parma Campus in PARMA, Ohio

Location: Parma Health Center

Biweekly Hours: 40.00

Shift: Variable start times (7:30 am, 8:00 am, 8:30 am)

Summary:

Uses expertise in a specific area of clinical respiratory care on a 24-hour basis. Functions as a leader, innovator, and change agent under the direction of the Manager – Respiratory Therapy in the pursuit of improved/innovative respiratory care practices (both clinical and diagnostic) while focusing on efficiency and the quality of patient care. The scope of practice encompasses practice, education, consultation, research, and administration for infant through geriatric patients. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:

Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.

Possess and maintain an active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC).

Possess and maintain Certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or obtain within 9 months of hire date.

Possess and maintain an active Respiratory Care Professional (RCP) license from the Ohio Medical Board.

Possess and maintain a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

1 years of professional Respiratory Care experience in an acute care setting.

Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills.

Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Care, Education, or other related Science or Business field.

Completion of management course work.

Extensive experience with mechanical ventilation, airway management, and hemodynamic monitoring.

Pediatrics Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and/or other appropriate certifications.

Physical Requirements: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to see computer monitor and departmental documents. Requires some exposure to chemicals, communicable diseases, or body fluids.
