Job Information:

  • Located in Parlin, NJ

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM. All work preformed on-site at our warehouse

  • Paying $17 per hour to start

    This job opening is with a family owned and operated warehouse that has been in business for 30+ years. They distribute customized industrial rubber material such as specialty, industrial rubber straps, or precisely measured and cut rubber sheeting, or rubber conveyor belt material. Rubber can be heavy, the staff are fit.

    They ship customized cut rubber product all over North America but equally pride themselves servicing loyal customers who sometimes drive hours and hours to pick-up material urgently needed for emergency repairs on their industrial equipment.     Warehouse Construction Helper Responsibilities:

  • Picks rubber material product from existing bulk spool or existing scrap found in computerized inventory systems.

  • Reads each customer order, the entire order to acquaint self on the customers' business, the machinery the product will be used on/for and reads past order history in computer to thoroughly understand order before cutting.

  • Plans job before cutting: prepares/sets-up machinery for cutting and/or obtains hand/power tools used during the cutting process.

  • Double checks customer order, measurements, markings and equipment set-up then cuts. Follows instructions to complete customer order which may include installing or shipping clasps, rollers, bearings, etc. Uses hand and power tools at this stage, if needed

  • Prepares customer order for shipping. Marks rubber as needed for proper installation by customer. May need to build crate/pallet to ship product. May use hand and power tools to cut and work with wood.

  • Enjoys cleaning up to the extent it must get done every job, we sort pieces of rubber that can be used, store it and update the inventory data in our computerized system. We sweep everyday and mop when need in the shop.

  • Helps those picking-up product including helping take product out to their car, load their truck using our pallet jack or forklift if needed and we talk with our customers to get to know them and their business. We help our FedEx, UPS and other freight currier driver's load our product into their trucks.

  • Unloads material too. Stages then stows incoming material to appropriate locations in warehouse, RF scanning sometimes but usually we need to manually update our inventory.

    Warehouse Construction Helper Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Valid New Jersey driver's license with an acceptable driving record is required.

  • At least two (2) years of continuous experience at one warehouse without gaps in employment along with positive references, including favorable inquires on past attendance is desired. Job hopping is not desired but valid reasoning for such may be considered.

  • Training on our forklift will be provided and we look for basic forklift experience.

  • Leads by example, listens and grows professionally

  • Works independently and meet goals

  • Motivated to learn and succeed

  • Ability to lift up to 75lbs, at times frequently but not often. Ability to lift, carry using both arms/hands and walking with up to 45lbs often (up to 6 hours per day) is an essential requirement.
