We are looking for a Sales Director – Grocery interested in starting a SWEET career as part of our Sales team.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Sales Regional Grocery, the Sales Director – Grocery will lead continuous sales and profit growth in a multi-state region of Retail and Wholesale Grocery customers. Provide leadership with a passionate laser-like customer focus driving company sales and profits. Success will be achieved using a combination of Customer/Consumer Insights, positive Retailer, Wholesaler and Broker Relationships and chiefly Customer Collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage grocery retailers and wholesalers, establish PIM as a first-choice partner for fruit snacks, as well as the leading player for confectionery brands.

  • Identify new distribution growth opportunities with grocery retailers and build partnerships that are mutually profitable to drive volume through distribution.

  • Partner with grocery retailers to develop annual programs, promotions and planograms that will advance PIM Brands and the categories which we are merchandised.

  • Build and enhance meaningful relationships (at HQ levels) with grocery retailers and wholesalers that are favorable in supporting PIM growth at all levels of the organization.

  • Motivate assigned brokers to execute PIM Brands initiatives, while delivering annual goals.

  • Create annual stretch sales objectives within area of responsibility by partnering with brokers to develop sales plans for each broker supporting national objectives and achieve them through dynamic customer action plans.

  • Implement channel and customer strategies that align with Sales vision and direction.

  • Conduct regular and consistent broker reviews identifying areas of focus and providing direction and guidance focused on PIM Brands growth.

  • Conduct regular and consistent retailer and wholesaler reviews assessing their business and providing solutions to advance customers’ business as well as that of PIM Brands.

  • Develop, and manage trade funding budgets, manage all promotional plans and accrual trade funds by broker and customer including product forecasts and promotional plans.

  • Have fanatical focus towards grocery retailers’ resets and revisions, and through advanced planning with broker partners and retailer, and participation in reset process, drive to increase PIM Brands market share through all assigned accounts.

  • Develop and deliver customer presentations for grocery retailers and wholesalers for business reviews, planning sessions, new items, programs, promotional planning.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years’ experience in Sales, Account Management preferably focused in the Grocery trade class segment

  • Previous success in building and growing relationships and sales with Grocery retailers

  • Working knowledge of customer/consumer practices with Consumer-Packaged Goods companies

  • Experience in P&L/budget management, ability to create customer specific plans that achieve customer growth goals and PIM profitability goals

  • Strong background of success with demand planning and customer level forecasting

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with ability to develop and deliver effective fact-based presentations in a persuasive format

  • Ability to work-cross functionally with Marketing, Customer Collaboration Team, Sales, Logistics and Finance

  • Strong creative abilities and business acumen

  • Demonstrated ability to function with a high level of proficiency and accuracy in a fast- paced quick to pivot environment

  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills; strong interpersonal and organization skills

  • Strong emotional intelligence skills and project management skills and ability to multi-task

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrate initiative, motivation, problem-solving, teamwork skills, and a passion for customer development

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong relationships

  • Ability to travel and work extended daily hours, including some weekends, to attend trade shows and industry conferences. Region Directors are expected to complete market visits with customers and brokers at least twice per month

  • Valid Driver License and clean driving record

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • 4-year bachelor’s degree in business or a related field

  • 5+ years of CPG related sales experience

  • 3+ years of grocery trade class experience

  • Expertise managing grocery retailers

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPG experience in the snacking and/or confectionery categories

  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills; VBA, macro-enabled workbooks, etc.

  • Trade Promotion Management software experience

    Worksite:

  • Remote position with the ability to travel up to 50% in the Northeast to meet with customers and broker partners

  • Ability to work extended daily hours, including some weekends, to attend trade shows and industry conferences

  • The PIM Brands Global Headquarters is in Park Ridge, New Jersey
