New Bridge Medical Center STAFFING COORDINATOR IN LONG TERM CARE-NURSING ADMINISTRATION FULL-TIME DAYS MONDAY-FRIDAY AND EVERY OTHER WEEKEND 10:00AM-6:00PM 23258 in Paramus, New Jersey

Description

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for scheduling personnel to provide maximum coverage for the Nursing Department.

Coordinates all unit schedules and staffing requests.

Ensures adequate unit staffing through schedule review and revision and anticipates staffing needs in collaboration with the staffing supervision/unit manager.

Assists in filling emergency staffing requests.

Confirms all float/per diem schedules and makes float assignments.

Collects and records afternoon census on daily staffing sheet.

Informs appropriate nursing leadership of staffing and scheduling problems.

Obtains staff from outside agencies when authorized by Director of Nursing/Designee.

Participates on CQI committees related to staffing.

Maintains payroll records and submits for Acute Nursing Administration and Per Diem Float Pool.

Expedites agency bills; clarifies bills and issues Purchase Requisitions.

Assists with secretarial duties when the secretary is not available.

Assists in coordinating agency nurse, float, and per diem orientations with Assistant Director of Nursing/designee.

Keeps accurate attendance records for employees.

Updates employee phone book as necessary.

Collects nursing care hours, acuity and other related statistics.

Collects and distributes agency nurse usage.

Retains and archives all staffing documents in accordance with department policy.

Communicates staffing related issues with appropriate nursing department staff.

Represents Nursing Administration related to staffing issues.

Effectively resolves staffing conflicts.

Keeps Director of Nursing informed of staffing issues.

Communicates effectively with other Staffing Coordinator and Assistant Director of Nursing/Designee to ensure smooth transition between shifts

Attends monthly nursing office meetings.

Maintains statistical data as directed.

Assists other personnel as necessary.

Typing as necessary.

Qualifications

Education

Required

  • Diploma or better in Diploma/GED

Experience

Required

  • Computer literate, especially Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred

  • 1 year: Staffing experience.

  • 1 year: Clerical experience.
