League Sports Director must be passionate and motivated to lead successful sports programs and activities for the city of Paragould Parks and Recreation Department. Analyze, organize, and coordinate the Paragould Youth Baseball (PYB) and the Paragould Youth Softball (PYSA) athletic leagues. The sports program is expected to be managed on a high level of coordination, communication and adapt to the changing needs of the members and trends in the field. Ensure the promotion of sports programming growth, safety, member satisfaction and member retention through sports program participation and facility excellence. Develop and administrate strategies to increase the utilization of the Paragould Youth Sports Leagues.
\ ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Plan, develop and oversee operations of sports programming for PYB and PYSA.
- Maintain ongoing communication with members and participants of PYB / PYSA sports leagues.
- Schedules and monitors all league play; provides and supervises league officials; establishes and enforces league rules.
- Maintain high membership conversion ratios through improved program participation.
- Conduct ongoing assessment and evaluation of all sports programming performances and implement program changes and/or enhancements as needed.
- Provide leadership and vision in the improvement and development of existing and new innovative sports and recreation program development to better meet the needs of members and the community.
- Implement and direct department promotional and retention strategies for new and existing sports programs.
- Develop and maintain effective facility scheduling and equipment to best serve members of the community; establish policies, procedures and guidelines for staff and participants to ensure quality member experience.
- Plan the annual program budget; manage and implement the approved budget and take appropriate action to correct variances. Take lead role in implementing and managing program sponsorship initiatives, insuring department financial viability.

Responsible for ordering equipment and supplies for the leagues and ensure that equipment is properly secured and maintained. 3. Prepares facilities for program use this includes all fields, dugouts, scoreboards, bleachers and press boxes. 4. Participate in regular departmental meetings and building coverage. 5. Provide ongoing maintenance to sports equipment and facilities. 6. Assist in the promotion and integration with other city departments to ensure the productive, effective, and efficient operation of the Paragould Parks Department. 7. Supervise, train and support assigned staff and volunteers, develop, plan, and implement new procedures, systems, and methods to promote program growth, safety, member satisfaction and member retention through program participation and facility excellence. 8. Oversee internal marketing and communication efforts to maximize enrollments and program participation. 9. Identify and resolve program problem areas to ensure member satisfaction. 10. Represent and promote the Paragould Parks Department in the community as needed and develop positive working relationships with other organizations, business, and governmental entities. 11. Work hours and work week will be required to be flexible according to season or function. 12. Operates a city automobile in the performance of essential job functions. 13. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner. 14. Performs any other duties as required or ssigned.
