Trane Technologies Quality Technician - 2nd Shift in Panama City, Florida

Position Description

Leads internal continuous quality improvement efforts. Reactively conducts investigations of shop floor quality issues. Proactively & systematically performs focused quality incident investigations on top issues. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

· Respond to quality excursions, determine disposition of suspect materials, organize containment activities, conduct follow-up as required.

· Support in incoming inspection for materials that have potential packaging or any quality issue.

· Support offline MDI from quality standpoint as a part of core team.

· Take up and work on JDI to develop corrective action from the MDI board.

· Initiate SQI's for any supplier quality issue in the offline.

· Perform containment and rework of non-conformance materials for line support if applicable.

· Maintain quality system documentation for processes and procedures (Standard work, 9 steps, checklists, pareto charts, fish bone diagrams).

· Issue Quality Alerts when necessary.

· Perform laboratory analyses – conduct dimensional studies, material studies, gage studies, etc.

· Collect and statistically analyze data in support of quality initiatives and other projects.

· Conduct process audits (line & yard) based on critical to quality specifications.

· Support in warranty MDI, line Scrap Dollars and bar codes as needed.

· Identify and implement process improvement ideas.

· Other tasks as assigned.

Key Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED Required

  • Associates degree in technical field preferred.

  • At least one (1) year of quality systems/project experience preferred.

  • Minimum of one (1) year core employment service required.

  • Must have working knowledge in the use of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Internet Explorer, and Outlook). Minitab knowledge considered a plus.

  • Lean fundamentals or green belt training considered a plus.

  • Active involvement in continuous improvement initiatives (like Quality, Training, or Safety coordinator) a plus.

  • Must have demonstrated creativity and solid problem-solving skills.

  • Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications, and process documentation.

  • Must be a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be able to effectively build relationships with employees at all levels.

  • Must have excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.

  • Must be flexible and able to work all hours including weekends and off shifts.
