Position Summary, Engineering Technician, Junior or Mid-Level

Innovative Professional Solutions, Inc., has enjoyed the privilege of providing excellent support to our Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) customers since 2001. We are looking for a Junior or Mid-Level Engineering Technician that will provide technical support for engineers engaged in research, design, development, testing, overhauling, and refurbishment support to Naval Surface Warfare Center Panama City Division (NSWC PCD) Mine Warfare (MIW) and Technical Support programs. The Technician will assist engineers in the development and fabrication of mechanical, electronic, and electrical prototypes, subassemblies, components, parts, equipment, and systems. Technical tasks are performed in contractor or government facilities that are within the United States and abroad. This position requires a Department of Defense Secret security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. This position is full time, Monday-Friday with an excellent benefit package! Compensation is based on experience.

Highlight of Responsibilities Support preparation, assembly/disassembly, preventative and corrective maintenance, testing and/or troubleshooting of relevant U.S. Navy systems and equipment. Perform electrical/electronic integrity inspections, systematic fault isolation, troubleshoot and repair equipment, cabling, connectors, and electronics within prescribed standards. Assemble, inspect, and test various electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies including motors and circuit board assemblies. Interpret standard wiring diagrams and drawings. Perform routine tasks, including wiring, soldering, calibrating equipment, conducting tests, and recording test data. Fabricate wiring harnesses, Ethernet cables, USB cables, and ribbon cable assemblies. Assist engineers in the development of engineering drawings, test plans, and other technical documents. Maintain confident soldering skills.

Requirements: Requires minimum of two to seven years of professional experience supporting preparation, assembly/disassembly, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting procedures for Engineering and Technical Support programs or similar systems. High School Diploma. Eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance.

Desirable Qualifications: Experience with depot-level repair and refurbishment of U.S. Navy equipment. IPC Soldering J-STD-001 Certification. IPC-7711/IPC-7721 Rework and Repair of Electronic Assemblies. Circuit board diagnosis and repair.

Working Conditions/Environment: Work will primarily be conducted both at IPS and at NSWC PCD. Tasks may include reaching, lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, squatting, kneeling, walking, and climbing stairs or ladders.
