We are looking for a talented Senior Software Development engineer to join a high-caliber team delivering products and services for Amazon AdTech supply business. This role is for you if are self-driven, experienced, motivated software engineer with a proven track record of building low-latency / high volume ad serving systems and services. You insist on high standards when it comes to operational excellence and grow junior engineers to become future senior engineers through coaching and leading with empathy. Bonus if you are also comfortable handling big data queries and analytics - that is an integral part of what we do. We use Java and AWS technologies heavily.

In this role, you will: - Think big, bringing fresh ideas and interactions optimizes for a healthier publisher ecosystem.

  • You understand the business impact of your systems and show good judgment when making technical trade-offs.

  • You bring perspective and provide context to guide future technology choices.

  • Your code submissions and approach to work are exemplary. You write software that is easy for others to contribute to.

  • You drive engineering best practices (e.g., Operational Excellence, Security, Quality, etc.) and set standards.

  • When confronted with discordant views, you are able to find the best way forward and influence others to follow that path (build consensus).

  • You contribute to the professional development of colleagues, improving their technical knowledge and engineering practices.

  • You ensure your team is stronger because of your presence, but does not require your presence to be successful.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience

  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $151,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
