Amazon Publisher Services (APS) is a suite of cloud-based services that helps publishers build thriving digital businesses. We are seeking a Senior Manager, Software Development for the Publisher Products Engineering team. The APS Product and Tech (APS-PT) team is responsible for building advertising technology services, products and infrastructure that help publishers to grow their businesses through better quality advertising for publishers and buyers, and more relevant ads for viewers. In this role, you will manage engineering teams building advertising products and Infrastructure for our publisher customers. You will define the strategy of the upcoming high scale APS infrastructure from ground up and work with various Amazon Advertising teams. You will work closely with our publisher customers and cross teams at Amazon to build products that will shape the future of advertising services. This is a high-impact role that requires big-picture thinking, but also strong execution, technical depth, analytical rigor and excellent communication.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of managers, engineers, and TPMs providing direction, support, and fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.

  • Define the multi-year vision, technical roadmap and strategy for the APS Infrastructure team working with Engineering leaders and Principal Engineers.

  • Be deeply involved in technical architecture and design. Lead the team in making ambiguous technical decisions and tradeoffs. Proactively manage and mitigate technical risks, particularly integration risks.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Management, Account Management, Solutions Architects, and other stakeholders to align priorities and deliver on business objectives.

  • Develop and implement best practices, processes, mechanisms and standards to optimize team productivity and ensure high-quality software deliverables.

Basic Qualifications

  • 10+ years of engineering experience

  • 5+ years of engineering team management experience

  • 10+ years of planning, designing, developing and delivering consumer software experience

  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams

  • Experience managing multiple concurrent programs, projects and development teams in an Agile environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience partnering with product and program management teams

  • Experience designing and developing large scale, high-traffic applications

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $198,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $342,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
