Ford Motor Company Sr. Site Reliability Engineer in Palo Alto, California

In this position…

We are in search of a Senior Engineer to become an integral part of our Bedrock team. As an internal developer platform, Bedrock empowers our service teams by providing managed cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, operational support, and innovative tooling. Our goal is to expedite the development and deployment of cloud-based services that support our cutting-edge electric vehicle technology. This pivotal role involves managing and enhancing our shared cloud infrastructure, optimizing our CI/CD pipelines, ensuring system reliability, and implementing necessary tooling to ensure high service quality. Your efforts will drive the stability and scalability of our technology platforms and contribute to our vision of reshaping the future of mobility.

What you'll do...

  • Manage and optimize our shared cloud infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Monitor system health, ensure system reliability, and minimize system downtime.

  • Implement necessary tooling and standards to maintain service quality.

  • Collaborate with service teams to provide infrastructure support.

  • Contribute to technology evaluations and decision-making processes.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or other related or foreign equivalency degree or combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering or site reliability engineering.

  • 2+ years of solid experience with cloud-based deployment models and operations.

  • 2+ years of Expertise in managing CI/CD pipelines.

  • 3+ years of proficiency with Go or Java programing language.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes

  • Familiarity with modern software engineering practices, including DevOps principles and test automation.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical issues effectively.

Even better if you have…

  • Experience with Open Application Model, Temporal, ArgoCD, Kubebuilder or similar tools and framework.

  • Deep understanding of security principles, including secure coding, encryption, access control including JIT, network security, and risk assessment.

This position is a range of salary grades 6-8.
