Job Description:
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Desk Administrator to join their dynamic IT team. This role will primarily focus on providing exceptional IT user support and driving technical solutions to support their rapidly evolving business needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop support, end-user management, system and infrastructure configuration, and SaaS tools administration. As a key player of the IT team, you will be responsible for both local and remote support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities (but not limited to):
Provide expert support for Mac OSX and Windows desktop systems, including troubleshooting and provisioning.
Administer cloud-based tools such as Office 365 (Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive), Google for Business, Jira, Confluence, Okta, Zoom, Box, GitHub, RingCentral, Druva, and other applications as needed.
Oversee the administration of Mobile Device Management for all corporate systems, ensuring secure and efficient device usage.
Use tools like JAMF, Microsoft Intune, and VMWare Workspace One for managing company devices.
Manage and prioritize IT help requests using ticketing systems such as JIRA and ServiceNow.
Maintain clear, precise documentation on technical procedures and standard operating policies.
Provision and configuration of network components, including Cisco Meraki, Juniper, and Brocade systems.
Develop and automate standard procedures and actions to improve efficiency and scalability.
Provide support for lab computer systems and instrument installations.
Administer Zoom and Teams for audio-visual equipment and troubleshooting.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of IT Service Desk experience in an agile, fast-paced technical environment.
Strong understanding of the technologies and tools listed above, including Office 365, Google for Business, JAMF, ServiceNow, and more.
Familiarity with Linux-based systems such as Ubuntu and RHEL, and Windows Server is beneficial.
Ability to work independently without micromanagement, taking ownership of projects and tasks.
Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical and non-technical information across teams.
Excellent troubleshooting skills with a passion for solving complex issues in a high-demand environment.
Ability to manage day-to-day support while driving key projects that automate and improve management tools for the IT environment.
Understanding of balancing business needs with regulatory compliance and quality principles.
Experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud is a plus.
The position is primarily based in an office setting, with exposure to a laboratory environment as necessary.
Ability to lift routine office supplies and peripherals.
Ability to sit for long periods and work at a desk for extended hours.
