Senior Financial Analyst with Senior Accountant Experience

Location: Palo Alto, CA

Job Type: Full-Time; On-site

Robert Half is partnering with a dynamic company in search of a Senior Financial Analyst who brings a blend of expertise in senior financial analysis and senior-level accounting. This role requires a proactive, detail-oriented detail oriented with exceptional skills in Tableau, Excel, and experience in Tableau automation. Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis:

• Develop, analyze, and interpret complex financial models to provide insights and recommendations to key business stakeholders.

• Generate reports and financial models focusing on automation to streamline data reporting and forecasting.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze budget vs. actuals, forecast trends, and identify key drivers of financial performance.

• Provide decision support through financial modeling and scenario analysis.

Accounting Functions:

• Perform month-end close activities, including preparing adjusting journal entries and reconciling accounts.

• Ensure compliance with GAAP in all financial reporting and accounting operations.

• Collaborate with the accounting team to manage the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.

Process Improvement:

• Leverage advanced Excel skills (macros, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) to automate and streamline financial reporting and accounting workflows.

• Identify opportunities to enhance reporting processes by integrating Tableau automation and other tools.

  Requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or CFA is a plus).

• A minimum of 3+ years in financial analysis and accounting roles.

• Exceptional proficiency in Tableau, including experience with Tableau automation.

• Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, automation, Power Query, macros).

• Deep knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with corporate accounting best practices.

• Proven ability to communicate financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.

• Experience with ERP systems like Oracle, SAP, NetSuite, Bill.com and Workday.

  Preferred Skills:

• Large company experience is a plus.

• Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of driving process improvements and efficiencies.
