As a Product Manager-Checkout in Merchant Services team, you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.

Job Summary

We are working on the future of Checkout at JP Morgan and are looking for a Product Owner to be responsible for end-to-end success of our Checkout product. As a Product Manager, you will be responsible for understanding customer needs and translating these into prioritized items on the product backlog. You will also be responsible for monitoring customer engagement, customer satisfaction, and managing stakeholder expectations.

Job responsibilities

  • Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers.

  • Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap.

  • Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition.

  • Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability.

  • Define a strategic vision and the long-term roadmap to achieve it, Create and maintain product's definition and product roadmap, ensuring you work backwards from customers' needs by utilizing data analysis as the guiding principle.

  • Identify market needs, interface with line of business technology customers as needed to define scope and position of product

  • Have enough technical depth to understand internal and external system dependencies

  • Handle product requirement elicitation and breakdown- write detailed functional and Non-functional requirements, product use cases, user journeys and detailed acceptance criteria.

  • Help influence downstream technology team's roadmap priorities and reach agreements on approach/prioritization.

  • Manage and coordinate product deliverables throughout the PDLC (Product Development Life Cycle), update and track deliverables using appropriate tools (ex: JIRA)

  • Oversee and drive go-to-market and strategic marketing plans for product

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • 5+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in product management or a relevant domain area

  • Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics

  • Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management.

  • Deep understanding and hands on working experience throughout the product development life-cycle.

  • Have enough technical depth to understand internal and external system dependencies

  • Proven experience developing roadmaps, product overviews, reports, backlog, and documentation for enterprise technology solutions

  • Knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies

  • Understanding of software development methodologies and practices (software development life-cycle, Agile, Scrum, etc.)

  • Experience writing technical stories in JIRA/confluence, writing detailed acceptance criteria and articulating requirements dependencies.

  • Relevant experience in Payments Technology product management role within highly regulated environments, working directly with engineers on product enhancements.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Demonstrated prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization.

  • Certification- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) a Plus

  • Previous experience building a payments e-Commerce product

  • Ability to complete research and analysis for deliverables and incorporate findings (ex: UX research, design limitations, etc.)
