A Brief Overview
The Procurement Assistant inventories, orders, receives and distributes supplies and equipment for hospital utilization. The Procurement Assistant serves as the liaison between direct patient care providers and other hospital departments, physician offices, and vendors concerning supplies and equipment.

What you will do
Assists in the evaluation of new supplies and equipment. Conducts trial studies as directed and maintains records. Participate in the monitoring and documenting of quality improvement issues.
Assists Managers in the evaluation of new supplies and equipment. Maintains active and complete purchasing requisition files and updated price lists.
Identifies and shares recommendations for containing costs in assigned area.
Implements vendor traffic control policy and provides suggestions for revision/improvements. Maintains active and complete purchasing requisition files and updated price lists.
Maintains inventory and orders supplies and equipment. Requisition supplies from Purchasing based on utilization from charge sheet and/or operative records.
Notifies vendors of obsolete or damaged equipment or supplies to be returned or repaired. Generated necessary documentation.
Participates in the monitoring and documenting of quality improvement issues
Process return of recalled equipment and supplies. Maintain active and complete purchase order files. Check in returned repairs and restock items
Receives shipments, verifies invoices, prepares and files related paperwork. Delivers special orders to designated areas.
Education Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Experience Qualifications
- Two (2) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.

Knowledge of general store keeping, inventory and stock control methods.
Knowledge of hospital billing systems and hospital rate file structures.
Knowledge of local, state and federal regulatory requirements related to areas of functional responsibility.
Knowledge of specialized medical and surgical supplies and equipment, primarily of a disposable nature.

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $39.88 - $44.91 per hour
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
