This role is a Temporary Work Assignment which will last 6 months to provide strategic and operational support to the VP of Enterprise Cloud. The incumbent will be a vital member of the Enterprise Cloud leadership team, working closely on the execution of key deliverables.

You will bring outstanding leadership, critical thinking, relationship building skills, and the ability to work well in a dynamic environment. You will need to have a consistent record of excellence operating independently in a high performing team environment. Reporting to the Vice President, you will also serve as a critical thought partner, planning direction for the team, and directly collaborating with the leaders in the organization.

The Manager Assistant is responsible for a broad range of activities including colleague communications, organization & planning, and execution of activities to meet the objectives of the Enterprise Cloud Office:

Minimum Qualifications

  • To be successful in this critical role you will be a highly motivated self-starter who is able to provide strategic thought leadership, lead multi-functional teams and projects with limited mentorship. You are organized, culturally-aware and a good communicator who can effectively prioritize as needs evolve.

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical discipline or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred

  • Certifications in project management methodologies is preferred

  • 5 years in program delivery and project management

  • Technical knowledge sufficient to understand and discuss the Cloud offerings and strategy at American Express

  • Experience managing multiple initiatives, priorities and teams

  • Independently drives work, with some supervision, guidance, and coaching from Vice President

  • Independently defines problems and identifies solutions in the face of ambiguity

  • Ability to manage multiple projects across multiple teams

  • Tailors messages and style across stakeholder groups

  • Understands and aligns priorities to the program vision and strategy

Preferred Qualifications

  • Work experience within areas such as HR, Project Management or Technology

  • Strong industry knowledge of the newest technologies and its relevance to the American Express environment groups preferred

  • Demonstrated project management, organization and planning skills applied in a dynamic, multi-tasking environment

  • Ability to get results, think strategically and globally

  • Passion, energy, empathy, personal accountability, and a desire to learn and grow as a leader

  • Excellent social, judgment, communication and follow through skills

  • Solid analytical, business, and financial acumen

  • Extraordinary oral and written interpersonal/ relationship building skills

  • Experience of consistent track record to drive large and sophisticated initiatives, across multiple-organizations or the technology organization (presentations/memos) for a variety of audiences

  • Consistent track record to navigate effectively and efficiently within American Express

  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to juggle multiple tasks, with excellent organization skills and careful attention to detail

  • A standout colleague who is able to build consensus and work across a large and diverse organization

  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, work effectively in ambiguous situations, and the passion to take charge and get results

  • Active listening skills, summarization skills and lateral thinking to uncover and react to emerging opportunities

  • Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and be flexible when faced with changing priorities

  • Able to look after confidential information without exception

  • Prior technology experience/knowledge or experience of HR processes and disciplines a plus

Qualifications

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually bonus benefits
