Imagine designing the future of vehicle service. At Ford, we're transforming vehicle maintenance using the power of connected car technology. This isn't just about fixing cars; it's about creating a seamless, proactive experience that gives our customers peace of mind and keeps their vehicle ready for use always. As a Product Designer, you'll collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to develop and design the vision for our vehicle health-as-a-service platform and app experience. Your work will directly impact how millions of drivers interact with their vehicles, ensuring they never have to be without them.

About Ford

The Ford Motor Company had endured and thrived for 120 years – through every imaginable challenge – because we have the vision to imagine the future and the courage to change. Ford is transforming our global automotive business to scale EVs, strengthen operations, and unlock value.

At Model e, dedicated teams within Model e will create the software platforms and fully networked vehicle architectures to support delightful, always-on and ever-improving vehicles and experiences that will allow us to deliver over 50% of our total sales in BEV and 33 million connected vehicles by 2030.

What will it be like to work on the Model e team?

We are passionate about solving hard problems. We are swift and decisive, trusting the experts, believing the data, seeking out and listening to bold intuition – regardless of the source. We are insurgents. Never satisfied, averse to complexity, suspicious of habits and open to risk. We focus on the mission and deliver with urgency and speed. We are an agile team leveraging rapidly evolving technology to innovate, fail fast and pivot. Most importantly we raise the talent bar with every hire.

What you’ll be able to do:

  • Represent the human perspective as we envision Vehicle Health experiences for a variety of dealers and customers- from problem framing, ideation, iterative design, development and delivery.

  • Work as a collaborative team member with business partners, product owners, product managers, software engineers and fellow designers.

  • Guide product decisions through a deep understanding of actual consumers who use our products and services; conduct exploratory research and analysis to connect with the audience.

  • Facilitate and participate in design workshops and collaboration sessions with technical and non-technical partners to expand thinking and build space for innovation.

  • Generate ideas and rapidly build design prototypes to bring ideas to life, and quickly evaluate and iterate

  • Design, implement, and adapt digital design systems, data visualizations, on-brand visual design, illustrations, etc.

  • Produce what is vital for successful implementation, prioritizing demos over documents.

The minimum requirements we seek:

  • Bachelor’s degree in visual design, visual communications, or relevant design-driven discipline or a minimum of 5+ years digital UX/UI design experience in lieu of a degree

  • 2+ years of proficiency with modern design tools (Figma, Miro, Framer)

  • Strong visual design skills

  • Portfolio must be provided

Our preferred Requirements :

  • Experience working with design systems.

  • Experience prototyping with visual, interaction and motion design.

  • Experience working independently with internal stakeholders and / or clients.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

  • Passion for growing your skills, tackling interesting work and challenging problems; be committed to lifelong design learning.

  • Technical and problem-solving mindset.

  • Passionate about automotive and/or experience designing for integrated hardware/software systems.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!

As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home?
