Day - 10 Hour (United States of America)

The Stanford Cardiovascular Interventional Tech department averages about 20-35 Cath Lab cases a day. The department has one of the busiest structural heart departments in the country, and techs will be working on complex cases from all around the world. As a CIT you will work on cases in Neuro IR, Cardiology, Structural heart, Vascular and Electrophysiology.

A Brief Overview

The Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist Level I (CIT I) provides basic knowledge and competence in radiologic technology, imaging, devices, and provides assistance during neurovascular, vascular angiographic, cardiovascular, electrophysiologic procedures and disciplines.

What you will do

  • Novice level, staff will work the first three (3) months with supervision, three (3) to six (months) with minimal supervision and independent within six (6) months and has learned 2 services within one (1)year:

  • Adult Cardiology Service and Structural Heart

  • EP Service (Device implant)

  • or

  • Neuro Service

  • Vascular Service

  • Provides scrub assistance during procedures.

  • Provide aid during intervention cases. (Ex. Prepping balloon, stent deployment, valve crimping and other tasks.)

  • Sets modality parameters on fixed and mobile angiography equipment.

  • Enters data such as patient demographics in imaging equipment.

  • Correctly archives images in Cardiac PACS and Radiology PACS

  • Basic understanding of imaging techniques, protocols and equipment functions.

  • Operate ancillary equipment at the basic level; enter demographics, usage, needed supplies, measurement, archival.

  • Basic understanding on ancillary and cath angio equipment (Ekos, Angio Jet, FFR, Volcano, Rotablator, IABP, Impella, U/S, IVUS, Cathworks) used in services.

  • Performs routine cleaning of procedural area and equipment.

  • Stock assigned room with appropriate supplies needed for procedures.

  • Basic knowledge on service specific supplies (wire, sheaths and catheters)

  • Proficient on Sterile technique

  • Verifies and completes all documentation to include, EPIC and Inventory systems.

Education Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Experience Qualifications

  • One (1) year Radiologic work related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Learning the principles of radiation in relation to imaging techniques.

  • Understand the basic supplies for procedures.

  • Learning the safety requirements of the basic procedures.

  • Learning about the anatomy and physiology in relation to the procedures performed.

  • Learning the procedure indications, disease processes involved and treatment options.

  • Demonstrate solid communications skills.

  • Learning to recognize the specific age needs of the patients.

  • Learning the specific age needs of the patients.

  • Learning to build a trusting and collaborative relationships with colleagues and patients.

  • Understands and applies the principles of CI Care to patients, visitors, physicians and co-workers.

Licenses and Certifications

  • BLS - Basic Life Support

  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 180 Days

  • CRT

  • ARRT-RTR - Reg Tech-Radiography ARRT

  • RTF - Rad Tech Fluoroscopy within 90 Days

Base Pay Scale: Generally starting at $72.25 - $81.35 per hour

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. This pay scale is not a promise of a particular wage.
