About the Role:
Honeywell is seeking a Senior HSE Engineer to join our Energy & Sustainability Solutions (UOP) Group in Palmetto, FL. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the health, safety, and environmental integrity of one of Honeywell's leading operations.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to lead HSE initiatives, provide guidance on safety protocols, and drive continuous improvements in environmental and safety standards. You’ll work closely with facility leadership and employees to shape a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with regulations while supporting Honeywell's commitment to sustainability.
This is a fully onsite role based in Palmetto, FL, where you'll have the opportunity to work directly with our team in one of Honeywell's most critical facilities, making a lasting impact on safety, sustainability, and the future of energy.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and Influence: Implement and monitor HSE programs and policies to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines and Honeywell’s internal standards.
Drive Change: Champion a culture of safety through training, field assessments, audits, and behavior-based safety programs.
Collaborate for Success: Partner with cross-functional teams to identify hazards, assess risks, and develop strategies to address safety and environmental concerns.
Continuous Improvement: Drive ongoing safety improvements, leveraging Honeywell's Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems (HSEMS) and Operating System.
Educate and Coach: Provide guidance to employees and supervisors, coaching them on HSE best practices, and empowering them to take ownership of safety on the job.
Lead Audits and Assessments: Conduct safety audits and assessments to proactively identify risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
In October, 2024 Honeywell announced the spin-off of our Advanced Materials business to become a stand-alone publicly traded company, independent of Honeywell. Our intention is that this role, dedicated to the Advanced Materials business, will be a part of this future transaction when the separation occurs.
YOU MUST HAVE
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Proven ability to drive safety culture and influence positive behavior in a manufacturing environment.
WE VALUE
A college degree is a plus.
HSE Certifications (CIH, RSO, CSP, CHMM, CET) are highly desired.
1+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
Strong project management skills and the ability to organize complex data into actionable insights.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage conflict and influence change across all levels of the organization.
Comfort with coaching and intervening as needed to ensure safety standards are met.
