Lockheed Martin Manufacturing Planner Manager (Level 5) in Palmdale, California

Position Overview: As a Manufacturing Planner Manager, you will join an experienced team supporting material requirements planning (MRP) for multiple Palmdale Advanced Development Programs. Your primary role will be to lead and manage a team of planners and production control specialists, ensuring effective material flow and resource allocation. You will be instrumental in supporting production schedules, coordinating supply chain activities, and managing the MRP process to meet program timelines and deliverables. This role requires excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on continuous improvement, quality assurance, and alignment with overall program goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage a team of MRP professionals, including planners and production control specialists, to ensure alignment with project and program requirements.

Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of MRP strategies, ensuring materials are available to meet production schedules and deadlines.

Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve material issues, adjust schedules, and address resource requirements.

Monitor inventory levels and conduct analyses to optimize material flow, minimize delays, and reduce costs while maintaining production efficiency.

Develop and maintain performance metrics to track and improve MRP performance, including cycle times, inventory turns, and on-time delivery.

Implement and sustain best practices in MRP processes, tools, and systems to enhance accuracy, reliability, and responsiveness to program needs.

Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance MRP processes, systems, and communication with cross-functional teams.

Analyze and manage risks to material supply and production schedules, including identifying alternatives and implementing contingency plans as needed.

Collaborate closely with program managers to ensure material availability aligns with project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Prepare and present regular status reports, MRP analyses, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

• Secret Clearance required to apply; and the ability to obtain and maintain special program access per business requirements

• Previous Leadership/Manager experience

• Experience with MRP, Shop Floor Control, Production Control, Logistics or Inventory Management

• Experience with SAP and knowledge of ERP4C

Desired Skills:

• Management experience within a union environment (union guidelines, policies, etc.) and demonstrated leadership skills to manage represented and non-represented personnel

• Organizational experience in an aerospace manufacturing business model supporting IPT’s with either core or deployed personnel

• Experience with constraint management, material data warehousing, and/or project management

• Experience managing and delivering business/operational performance, including strategic, long-term decision-making influencing multi-year profitability

• Lean Six Sigma, black belt or green belt

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $96,700 - $185,300. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $111,200 - $209,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
