Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector is seeking a Director 1 Program Manager within the Strike Division to lead a Survivability and Mission Engineering (SME) team on a restricted program. This position may be located in Melbourne, FL or Palmdale, CA. This Director will lead a multi-function IPT collaborating with multiple internal technical and program management stakeholders and US Government teams to complete an engineering, manufacturing and development effort.
As the selected Director, you will be responsible for both cost, schedule and technical program execution and program-related business development and proposal activities. The primary focus of this role is leading a diverse team through a balanced execution of the design, development and test to close out our development effort. The selected candidate is responsible for closure of SME related technical requirements, within cost and schedule, while balancing program priorities and creating customer intimacy to support value creation strategies and actions. This position will have full exposure to the breadth of complexity found in portfolio management as it will navigate the program through concurrent program life cycle phases.
Key responsibilities include:
Responsible for delivery of integrated financial results, to include Profit & Loss and program requirements and objectives
Overall cost, schedule and technical accountability for multiple technologies and teams
Responsible for the strategy and execution of multiple connected projects to deliver on Program objectives
Ensure effective identification and management of issues, risks and opportunities. Drive issues and decisions to closure considering competing points of view, constraints, customer/stakeholder priorities and company strategic objectives
Advance program and NG strategic objectives by identifying and building advocacy for solutions in NG and customer forums
Build and maintain trusted relationships with customers and other Enterprise stakeholders
Approve proposals, estimates and engineering change proposals that fall within program signature authority. Lead approval coordination for new business efforts that require higher-level sign-off
Act as primary customer contact for program activities and lead program review sessions with customer and/or NG leadership to address Profit & Loss and other program requirements and objectives
Effectively coordinate and collaborate with functional and IPT leadership across NG to ensure required staffing, processes and infrastructure are available to efficiently execute the contract
Balance program priorities for overall warfighter benefit
A successful candidate for this role will have:
Demonstrated ability to lead multi-functional teams through development, production and test leading to a successful program closure
Demonstrated ability to shape and execute new business efforts, including proposal execution
Have excellent interpersonal skills, a collaborative management style, and an inherent drive to deliver on commitments
Experience in Survivability, Operations analysis and Virtual Simulation

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM and 9 years of related experience in Design, Production and Test; or Master’s Degree in STEM and 7 years of related experience in Design, Production and Test
Must have an active DoD Top Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
Ability to obtain and maintain applicable Special Access Program (SAP)
3 years of experience supporting U.S. Government contracts and customers and/or program management in other industries
Experience in Survivability, Operations analysis and Virtual Simulation analysis
Demonstrated experience leading the performance of tasks on schedule, at cost and achieving all requirements as either project lead or integrated program team
Demonstrated success leading teams/and or organizations to achieve a common goal
Demonstrated success building customer intimacy
Demonstrated success leading process change across multiple teams including peer leaders
Preferred Qualifications:
Active Special Access Program (SAP)
Experience with Jira and confluence
Experience in Flight Test
Salary Range: $187,700 - $325,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
