POSITION SUMMARY

This position assists in directing the sales focus including generating conference, convention, exhibition and trade show business through effective outside sales and marketing. This position works closely with visitors, stakeholders, industry partners, guests, in-house services and other colleagues to coordinate and enhance our guest experience by providing a seamless experience during all stages of the clients event.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITES

General

Assists in the development and implementation of facility goals and priorities relating to sales in compliance with State and Federal law, and ASM Global policies and procedures.

Supervises staff in accordance with policies, procedures and applicable laws including: interviewing and hiring; training; planning, assigning and directing work and; performance planning and concerns.

Develops and maintains effective policies, procedures and standards.

Ensures accurate information is maintained and updated.

Attends, and oftentimes coordinates, appropriate planning, organization and other meetings in support of sales operations.

Works with city authorities, vendors and other contractors to ensure compliance with state, federal and city laws and regulations.

Assists with development of departmental budget and authorizes the requisition of equipment and supplies within budget guidelines.

Maintains communication and effective relationships with booked and potential clients, internal clients, stakeholders and colleagues.

Sales

Assists in developing sales initiatives and programs to enhance productivity.

Assists in reviewing, negotiating and overseeing sales contracts.

Investigates, analyzes and resolves problems and concerns.

Assists in the completion of Performance Appraisals and Coaching and Counseling forms for Sales Managers

Produces weekly agenda for sales meetings listing topics of discussion for each meeting.

Assists in the planning of all Destination Education Events, Site Visits, FAM opportunities, etc. for the Sales Department

Acts as the main point of contact and decision-maker for the Sales Department in the absence of the Director of Sales and Marketing.
