Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices, a member of the Johnson & Johnson family of companies, is recruiting for a Commercial Education Associate Training Manager – Joint Reconstruction & Enabling Tech. This position will be based out of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

The Associate Training Manager, Commercial Education, DePuy Synthes Joint Reconstruction & VELYS Enabling Tech–will be responsible for the planning, delivery, and execution of training for the sales organization aligned to the global learning strategy and in support of United States (US)) regional business needs. This particular role will be primarily focused on digital surgery of the knee including the manual instrumentation primary and revision portfolio. This person will work with Global Education, Marketing, Sales Leadership, Healthcare Compliance, and other functional partners to craft and deliver educational programs aimed at elevating the proficiency of the sales organization aligned with the company curricula, certification pathways, policies and strategies.

Responsibilities:

FUNCTIONAL:

  • Develop and implement Commercial Education strategies in collaboration with internal partners to satisfy the overall objectives of the DePuy Synthes organization

  • Design and deliver effective educational programs aligned to our learning strategies including the use of a 30-40-30 format, adult learning principles, and professional facilitation skills

  • Educate sales consultants across the entire portfolio to build clinical and non-clinical proficiency with emphasis on technical training, clinical selling, operations, strategic account management, and enterprise and market effectiveness

  • Facilitate learning in self-directed, live, virtual, and/or in-person formats, leveraging appropriate technology platforms

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for training development with strategic partners including vendors

  • Maintain expertise in training and related clinical and business technologies and methodologies

  • Conduct and report on follow-up of training programs using MedTech Education analytics methodologies, and update programs as needed

  • Conduct ongoing training needs assessments of customer-facing field sales teams. Identify market and organizational trends and recommend appropriate actions to management.

  • Liaise with senior management to acquire resources for supporting needs and requirements of pivotal initiatives

  • Lead daily business-focused training activities for the Commercial Education department. This includes administrative activities, communications, and implementation of Commercial Education policies and guidelines aligned with the MedTech Education strategy.

  • Become proficient with the VELYS Robotic Assisted Solution and deliver training focused on our combination of technique, implant and technology.

  • Develop and deliver post course assessments in various formats that align with the trained content.

  • Ensure that sales training practices are aligned with all Company, government, and legal requirements through copy approval of asset’s created for sales training programs.

  • Know and follow policies and procedures related to work activities performed in area of responsibility.

TRAINING:

  • Complete training in area of responsibility within allowed time-period. Training is required for changes in existing policies and procedures, for new assignments, and for implementation of new policies and procedures.

  • Complete required periodic re-training in areas such as safety and environmental compliance.

SAFETY:

  • Follow all company safety policies and other safety precautions within work area, including operating rooms.

  • Promote safety to all associates that enter work area.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Minimum of 6 years of work experience with a minimum of 2 years of medical device experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability, ability to self-direct and self-govern

  • Ability to collaborate and lead across functions, job levels, and a matrix organization

  • Experience leading projects or initiatives

  • Aptitude for practical problem solving

  • Ability to effectively create and deliver presentations to a variety of audiences including learners, colleagues, and senior leaders

  • Strong public speaking and facilitation skills

  • Ability to adapt to and deliver in a dynamic work environment

  • Effective interpersonal skills that include professionalism, maturity, and a team mentality

  • Genuine interest in ongoing professional development of self and others

  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%, both domestically and internationally

  • Proficiency with MS Office and virtual meeting applications

Preferred:

  • An in-depth understanding of the DePuy Synthes knee product portfolio, particularly VELYS Robotics-Assisted Solution and ATTUNE, TKA, UKA and Kinematic alignment philosophies.

  • Strong clinical expertise in knee anatomy and knee arthroplasty including knee revision

  • Experience in technology-assisted surgery and/or capital equipment

  • Experience working in a commercial function (field, sales, marketing, etc.)

  • Experience as an orthopedic/medical device educator

  • Experience designing, developing, and delivering educational content for virtual, in-person, internal, and/or field-based audiences

  • Understanding of selling strategies including capital sales

  • Familiarity with adult learning principles

  • Experience using and/or implementing modern educational technologies

  • Ability to process complex situations with opposing inputs and decide the best path forward

Other:

  • Work environments: office, home office, classroom, meeting, laboratory, convention, and surgical facilities

  • Working hours: daily Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends

  • Physical requirements: sitting, reading, typing, talking, hearing, occasional ability to demonstrate orthopaedic surgical workflows, lift up to 30 lbs, and work in the presence of fluoroscopy
