Mercury Systems Electronics Quality Inspector (2nd Shift) - DoD SkillBridge in Oxnard, California

This program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. Mercury SkillBridge is open to all ranks and experience levels provided they meet the minimum requirements for the position listed below. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Mercury, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as Active-duty service members. As a quality inspector you will ensure that our products deliver flawlessly every time, in the heat of battle giving our troops the winning edge when it matters most. You will be utilizing the requirements of IPC Industry Standards to ensure that the quality of our products meets the high demand of our end users. You will ensure optimal product quality by performing in-process visual verification of electronic assemblies, providing real-time feedback to operators, and documenting discrepancies accordingly. You are responsible for: * Supporting Incoming, in-process and final inspection including customer source inspections * Obtaining and upholding IPC credentials required of the position. * Ensuring quality at a production line level by incorporating spot-inspection, sampling, and 1st-piece verification and 100% inspection as required. * Verifying compliance of in-process material against Customer and Industry Standards * Ensuring documentation is accurately recorded and collected. * Escalating systemic issues to Quality and Manufacturing Engineering * Supporting first-piece verification runs with accompanying documents. * Documenting non-conformities to the process and specifications * Initiating regular quality line-audits to ensure all documentation, consumables, and tooling are within check. * Advocating proper ESD, PPE, and FOD prevention * Operating appropriate inspection equipment; (AOI, XRAY, etc.…) Required Qualifications: * 5+ years of experience in quality assurance of electronics in a manufacturing environment * Physically able to spend up to 8 hours a day using a microscope * Familiarity with IPC Industry Standards * High-School Diploma * Must be a US citizen with an active DOD secret clearance or the ability to obtain one * Must be able to work 2nd shift hours - 2:00pm to 10:30pm Preferred Qualifications: * J-STD-001 Class 3 and/or IPC 610 certified * Familiarity with MIl-STD-833 * Experience working in an ISO-9001 and/or AS9100 Quality System environment * Ability to communicate openly and effectively to provide real-time feedback * Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment * Customer-Focused, "Zero-Defect" Mindset * Documentation Abilities * Computer literacy * Industry-Relevant Quality Inspection or Control experience * Willingness to cross train in multiple Quality areas This is a SkillBridge internship opportunity and does not offer compensation outside of your normal DoD pay.
