Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Contracts Administrator – Level 3 or 4 to join its team of qualified and diverse individuals supporting its Payload & Ground Systems Division. The successful candidate will be report to Contracts Administration Leadership and will work closely on a day-to-day basis with Program Management, Business Management, Operations, Business Development, and other functional teams.
In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of a contract portfolio from the business development phase through closeout, delivering customer satisfaction, building customer relationships and providing timely responses to both internal and external customers. They will conduct proposal preparation, contract negotiations and contract administration in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
This position will be full time in office and can be based in either Goleta, CA, Oxnard, CA, or Redondo Beach, CA. Travel may be required to additional offices, as needed, per business needs and meetings.

Primary Job Duties:
Lead contract negotiation and contract administration activities from the proposal through closeout.
Help with customer communications and correspondence, support writing of Contracts Management proposal sections, prepare representations and certifications, OCI sweeps, and review terms and conditions, technical data rights and assertions and provide the administrative support needed to guide the proposal through the proposal approval process.
Administration of daily contract activities for a variety of product lines and contract types, including cost reimbursable and firm fixed; such activities will include, establishing payment terms, initiating and monitoring invoicing, collections, and funding to support financial objectives; entering and managing data in the financial/delivery system; participating in IPT and customer meetings; performing and monitoring compliance to contract requirements; leading change management process.
Negotiate and terminate standard and nonstandard contracts.
Interpret, apply, and follow contract acquisition rules, company policies, and customer specifications. Ensures non-disclosure agreements and contract terms and condition are negotiated within company guidelines.
Data management in Costpoint and Contract Management System (CMS) on a weekly basis to ensure accuracy and completeness of contract information.
Advise management of contractual rights and obligations.
Compile and analyze data; maintain historical information.
Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years of contract management experience – OR - Master’s Degree with 3+ years of contract management experience
Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
Experience with multiple contract types (Firm Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus Fixed Fee)
Ability to manage multiple contracts at the same time of varying value and risk level, which may include various contract types, such as cost reimbursable and fixed price
Working knowledge of Government and Commercial contracting requirements; understanding of international contracting a plus
Ability to draft written correspondence and lead discussions related to basic contract execution issues
Basic Qualifications for Level 4:
Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of contract management experience – OR - Master’s Degree with 6+ years of contract management experience
Will consider an additional 4+ years of experience in lieu of degree
Experience with multiple contract types (Firm Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus Fixed Fee)
Ability to independently work moderate to very complex contract management responsibilities, including contract and regulatory compliance, negotiation of price, terms and conditions, and technical requirements
Ability to manage multiple contracts at the same time of relatively significant value and risk level, which may include various contract types, such as cost reimbursable and fixed price
Working knowledge of Government, Commercial, and international contracting
Ability to draft complex written correspondence and lead discussions related to basic contract execution issues, as well as high-risk and complex issues with various levels of leadership
Preferred Qualifications for both levels:
Prior experience in Defense or Aerospace
Experience with FAR and DFAR regulations
Contract Management Certification (Certified Professional Contract Manager, Certified Commercial Contract Manager, Certified Federal Contract Manager, Certified Contract Management Associate)
Salary Range: $87,700 - $133,100
Salary Range 2: $109,900 - $164,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
