Robert Half Senior Tax Accountant in Overland Park, Kansas

Description

We are in search of a Senior Tax Accountant to join our team in Overland Park, Kansas. The primary function of this role will be to manage and supervise staff accountants, handle complex tax returns, and develop quality client relationships in the industry. Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage staff accountants, providing guidance and direction as needed

• Oversee the preparation of complex tax returns, including personal, business, fiduciary, and non-profit

• Conduct thorough tax research, planning, and projection projects

• Review personal, business, fiduciary, and non-profit tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance

• Assume tax person responsibility for less complex business clients

• Develop and maintain quality client relationships and loyalty

• Acquire expertise in all tax software programs utilized by the company

• Develop expertise within agreed upon industry group(s)

• Manage tax administration projects as assigned

• Comply with all company's policies, procedures, and work rules.

Requirements • Candidate must have at least 3 years of experience in a similar role as a Tax Accountant

• Proficiency in handling complex tax issues and returns is required

• Experience in corporate income tax and corporate tax return preparation is essential

• Knowledge of federal income tax, federal income tax return, and federal tax return is necessary

• Familiarity with handling fiduciary income tax return is an added advantage

• Proficiency in income tax accounting and income tax return preparation is a must

• Experience in handling individual tax return is desired

• Knowledge and experience in multi-state tax and multi-state tax returns is required

• Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary

• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, is required

• Must have strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Proficiency in using tax software and other related software is desired

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification is preferred.
