The Talent Development Manager is a highly visible role leading the Talent function for Oshkosh Defense. This position is responsible for the development, implementation and ongoing management of the talent development framework and programs including talent acquisition, team member experience, succession planning, performance management, etc. This role enables the organization to focus on increasing our capabilities in all areas of talent management and shows organizational impact through metrics and tracking trends over time. In partnership with the enterprise talent team, this role will guide HRBPs through talent processes to best enable leaders with talent programs.

YOUR IMPACT

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive and other duties may be assigned.

  • Lead and develop a team of direct reports to support the attraction, engagement, and development of our team members.

  • Develop and deploy talent development vision, strategy, priorities, and resource allocation in the areas of organizational design, team development, and cultural development.

  • Provide organizational development consultation and design for key organizational initiatives and customers in the areas of organizational design, group process facilitation, team development, and cultural diagnosis/development.

  • Partner with HRBPs to recommend and deploy talent development strategy and framework. (e.g., talent review, employee engagement, performance management, goal setting, etc.).

  • Develop and deploy creative recruitment techniques to attract talent.

  • Partner with other HR functions and Centers of Excellences (COEs) to define successful talent management processes.

  • Serve as primary liaison between the enterprise Talent & Culture team, TA Center of Excellence and key Defense stakeholders.

  • Provide project leadership for programs that build our talent pipelines, such as Hiring our Hero’s, VPI, community involvement, etc.

  • Set measurable talent management objectives, track, and share progress.

  • Provide oversight to design and execution of a robust Defense onboarding program that engages and educates our new team members.

  • Manage communication, rollout, and deployment of key talent development programs.

  • Assess and diagnose talent program gaps and continuously improve Talent programs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Must have seven (7) or more years of relevant experience in multiple areas of HR such as learning and organizational development, talent acquisition, business partnering, and organizational effectiveness.

  • Prior experience leading a team of direct reports.

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certified Professional HR (PHR) or Senior Professional HR (SPHR).

  • Ability to establish strong partnerships with functional and business leaders to develop and execute on long and short-term HR strategies that directly support the business.

  • Strong collaborator with effective interpersonal and analytical skills who can work seamlessly across countries, cultures, and organizational units required.
