CITY OF OSHKOSH Lead Water Maintenance Worker in OSHKOSH, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Dive into a pivotal role as the Lead Water Maintenance Worker and ride the currents of our city\'s water system. You\'ll guide other water maintenance workers, inspect water mains and service installations during city contracts to ensure compliance with specifications. Dive into a variety of duties with this position. These tasks aren\'t the whole fish, but they\'ll keep you swimming. Be prepared to take on anything that comes your way! 1. Crew Captain & Fix-It Fanatic: Lead the Water Distribution maintenance crew and repair water mains, services, valves, boxes, and hydrants with expert precision. Also, locate stop boxes and valves to keep everything flowing smoothly. 2. Pipeline Inspector & Paperwork Pirate: Measure and inspect newly installed water mains and services to ensure they\'re tip-top, and complete all necessary paperwork related to your water adventures. 3. Emergency Diver & Equipment Enthusiast: Respond to after-hour call-ins to tackle urgent issues like water main breaks and service leaks. Operate all equipment related to Water Distribution operations, making sure nothing springs a leak on your watch. 4. Meter Master & Jack of All Trades: Remove, read, test, and install water meters efficiently. Perform other duties as assigned because in water maintenance, there\'s always a new tide to turn and plenty of opportunities to make a splash! ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of two years of experience in water distribution system construction and maintenance work.
