JOB REQUIREMENTS: Official Title: Early Childhood Education Development Specialist Business Title: Social Emotional and Development Specialist Employment Class: Non-Instructional Academic FTE: .885 Compensation: 50,000-56,000 FLSA Status: Exempt Terms of Employment: .885 FTE Annual based on Head Start calendar. Generally 40 hours a week between last week of July to 2nd week in June. Some summer, night and weekend work required. Position subject to available funding. Position Summary: Student Support Specialists will advance staff performance in the provision of educational services and individualized support for children and families and provide site level leadership support as needed. Advance staff performance in the provision of high quality educational services. A1. Coach assigned staff utilizing the Practice Based Coaching Model and Maintain associated records A2. Conduct a minimum of biweekly coaching cycles with staff receiving intensive coaching A3. Build a positive, caring and supportive relationship with assigned staff through recognizing their existing strengths and engaging them in reflective discussion regarding their professional growth and development A4. Conduct program quality assessment (PQA, TPOT and CLASS) and coaching observations according to outlined timelines, share outcomes with staff and provide feedback describing teaching practices observed, focusing on strengths and areas of potential growth in improving practices A5.
