Your Opportunity as the Specialist, Quality Assurance Assist in the maintenance and implementation of our quality systems within our Orrville facility. Interact with site leaders and technical experts to meet our quality and safety guidelines and become a mentor and role model for our highest quality standards. Location: Orrville, OH Work Arrangements: 100% onsite In this role you will: Drive operational excellence and ensure compliance with BRC, Quality Key Elements and Regulatory requirements Accountable for key quality results and systems impacting, lab verification, records traceability, training, pest control, and holds & positive release Quality Key Elements. Work collaboratively with 3rd party Service company, Plant Planning and Corporate Quality Assurance to build effective relationships to drive key business objectives Provide coaching and support to Quality Functional Leaders and Technicians Act as backup for cross functional team members Responsible for investigating and communicating responses for consumer complaints Participate/Lead quality defect root cause analysis investigations Develop and implement cost reduction and work process improvement projects Execute quality assurance laboratory analytical testing to deliver accurate JJP quality analyses, and reporting into Proficy, Oracle and WMS systems Deliver accurate process attributes & instructions consistent with standards necessary for the release and control of all incoming, in process JJP quality Process/Packing Analytical Support including maintenance of lab equipment, ordering supplies, coordinating PM and repair with vendors, verification of new equipment and trouble shooting of instrument problems Responsible for working through raw material/packaging complaints with logistics and vendors Able to meet all safety expectations, including wearing the required personal protective equipment (PPE) and following all safe practices The Right Place for You We are bold, kind, strive to do the right thing, we play to win, and we believe in a strong community that thrives together. What we are looking for: Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment Experience working in process and packaging operations Experience working across multiple departments in a manufacturing plant and training others on quality initiatives Ability to interpret Ship and Hard Hold Reports Experience assisting with calibration, maintenance, and auditing laboratory equipment Strong organizational, critical thinking and problem solving skills with attention to detail Effective presentation, verbal, and written communication skills Able to lift objects up to 50 pounds periodically Strong organization and time management skills Proven experience in driving continuous improvement objectives Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role: BRC experience, or SQF, PCQI, and HACCP certifications are preferred Better Process School Certified Working knowledge of Prodika, Blue Yonder, and Proficy preferred Learn more about working at Smucker: Our Total Rewards Benefits Program Our Thriving Together Philosophy Supporting All Impacted by Our Business Our Continued Progress on Inclusion, Diversity and Equity Follow us on LinkedIn #LI-KK1 The J.
