The Mechanical Engineering Internwill support the engineering group by working on a variety of engineering related tasks while supporting development and product support projects. This position offers a chance to join our innovative Research and Development team in Orofino, ID. This intern will gain hands-on experience while collaborating with experienced engineers and technicians in the design, testing, and production of cutting-edge optics.

What You\'ll Be Doing: Essential Job Duties(others may be assigned):

  • Familiarize and complete drawing revisions following an ECO process
  • Work with/learn/apply 3D modeling techniques using Autodesk Inventor and adhere to modeling standards that improve efficiency upon release to manufacturing
  • Develop basic detail and assembly drawings for products and equipment
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings and dimensioning standards
  • Review and inspect the assembly techniques and inspection processes used during riflescope manufacturing
  • Keep maintained notebook of daily activities and design notes
  • Work with machine shop to gain an understanding of machining techniques
  • Ability to perform mechanical design calculations
  • Direct report to R&D/Mechanical Engineering Manager

What we need from you: Required Minimum Qualifications (Education/Experience)

Currently attending a four-year college for Design or Mechanical Engineering major (preferably in sophomore or junior year)
