Lockheed Martin has an exciting opportunity for a Thermal Analysis Mechanical Engineer in Orlando, FL. This person will be a member of the hardware engineering team and be responsible for the development of mechanical, structural, optical, thermal and electronic systems and assemblies.

What You Will Be Doing

As a Thermal Analysis Mechanical Engineer, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Research and development of viable thermal and structural solutions for systems and components

- Create and correlate analytical models to provide guidance for product development

- Conduct performance, structural and thermal tests and measurements

- Report and document product structural and thermal performance

- Assess design merits with regard to product specification and reliability

- Work with materials and parts suppliers, including plastics, composites, wrought and cast metals, ceramics, additive materials, fans, blowers, heat-sinks, and thermal interface materials

Candidates filling this position will need a US citizen and will need a clearance at the level specified in “Clearance Level” or will need the ability to get a clearance if not specified. In addition to meeting security clearance requirements, candidate may need to be approved to work Special Access Program (SAP) prior to start of employment.

Basic Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret Clearance.

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering (or related field).

Must have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in Thermal Engineering or Thermal Analysis with knowledge of Computational Fluid Dynamics.

Experience with CFD solvers, preferably FloEFD 2021.3 (or higher) OR other comparable CFD pre/postprocessors.

Experience with FEM solvers, preferably Siemens SimCenter 3D 2020 Thermal (or higher) OR other comparable FEM pre/postprocessors.

Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Desired Skills:

Proficiency in active thermal control hydraulics and refrigeration, as it relates in the Aerospace sector.

Demonstrated thermal test planning and

execution skills.

Demonstrated strength in either thermal analysis with a desire to learn more.

Demonstrated strong problem solving and analytical skills.

Excellent writing and verbal communication skills for generating test plans, test reports, documentation and potentially proposals are necessary.

Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience with FORTRAN style input decks OR other comparable computer language.

Experience with ablative thermal protection systems.

Existing Secret Clearance.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
