Job Title: Tax Manager
Job Description
The role of the Lead Tax Manager is to oversee all areas of income, property, and sales tax. This includes saving federal, state, and local tax dollars through both planning and audit activities while complying with tax laws. Additionally, the role serves as a tax advisor to other corporate departments by performing tax research and calculations, including employee benefits, compensation, and employment tax.
Responsibilities
Lead and direct a team of 4 employees, including 2 direct reports, establishing performance metrics and providing coaching and constructive feedback.
Oversee and manage the timely and accurate preparation, review, and filing of US federal, international, state, and local income, sales, and use tax returns. Ensure all tax filings comply with relevant laws and regulations.
Supervise and assist in managing tax audits, ensuring the primary focus is on minimizing tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Review and guide analysts in responding to auditor requests for documents, reconciliations, and explanations, ensuring responses are timely, accurate, and comprehensive.
Analyze existing and emerging tax laws to assist in planning company activities that minimize the tax burden and optimize cash flow. Collaborate with internal teams to develop tax strategies that align with the company’s financial and operational goals.
Stay informed of the latest developments in tax laws and regulations through reading and continuing education, ensuring the company remains compliant and proactive in its tax strategy.
Supervise and assist in the preparation of quarterly tax reserve schedules, ensuring that reserves are accurately calculated and properly documented in accordance with accounting standards and tax regulations.
Oversee the preparation of year-end tax accounting reporting, including ASC 740, ensuring that all necessary tax-related information is accurately included in the company’s financial statements. Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
Essential Skills
5+ years of tax experience in public accounting or comparable industry experience, including supervisory/management experience.
Experience with tax preparation and research software.
Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
CPA Certificate.
Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
Proven leadership abilities.
Outstanding organizational skills.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Knowledge of tax research software.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Masters of Tax.
Multi-state tax experience.
Experience with Oracle.
Work Environment
Hybrid work schedule (in office Monday-Thursday, remote Friday). Located in downtown Orlando

The pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $140000.00/yr.
