Description:

You will be the Senior Manufacturing Engineer for the AMT Automation Team. The AMT Automation teams participate and provide manufacturing design guidelines in early product development cycles to ensure integration of automated solutions during manufacturing phases. Lead efforts to improve existing manufacturing processes by integrating automation capabilities along with manufacturing improvement activities. Support and participate in the design, fabrication, assembly, validation, and deployment of manufacturing automated components such as robots and vision systems.

What You Will Be Doing

As the Senior Manufacturing Engineer, the primary job responsibility is to support mechanical and tooling design projects in support of automation & robotics activities associated with IRAD projects and product programs. Candidate will be responsible for designing, developing tools and machinery for manufacturing automation operations. This role involves analyzing requirements, creating design concepts, and overseeing the fabrication process for equipment and tooling components. Other routine responsibilities will be capital planning and execution, vendor/integrator engagement, and project management activities to deploy automated solutions at multiple sites across MFC.

Approximately 15% travel may be required to facilitate multi-site automation projects.

This position typically requires 4+ years of professional experience with a Bachelors degree. Less experience with a Masters.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design and tooling design, focused on manufacturing/production fixtures/equipment.

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree.

• Proficient/expert using CAD design tools, CREO/Solidworks.

• Extensive experience using additive manufacturing tools and techniques (3D-Printing).

• Skilled in mechanical simulation and visualization using CREO/Solidworks.

• Practical knowledge of industry standards (GD&T) and best practices in mechanical engineering and tooling design (Technical Data/Drawing Packaging).

• Experience facilitating design reviews with cross-functional departments and stakeholders, using CAD, PowerPoint, and other visualization tools.

• U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain DoD Secret Security Clearance.

• Must be willing to travel up to 15%

Desired Skills:

• Ability to generate CAD simulations using visualization tools such as Visual Components or similar software tools.

• Experience integrating mechanical tooling and mfg. fixture designs into production processes.

• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, prior experience working in manufacturing settings desired.

• Experience designing and integrating automated systems involving robotics and similar automated equipment.

• Ability to develop and communicate larger automation strategy across multiple product lines – excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Demonstrated discipline in executing multi-functional projects with competing constraints.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
