Actalent Senior Software Engineer in Orlando, Florida

Job Title: Software Engineer

Job Description

This position will involve understanding and capturing customer requirements and creating new designs to meet project needs.

Responsibilities:

Perform analysis on UUTs to understand the functionality of the UUT and to determine test requirements.

Design interface adapters requiring generation of an electrical schematic or wire list of wiring to connect the UUT input/output (I/O) to the test station I/O.

Implement test requirements defining input signals which can be applied to the UUT and in turn determine the corresponding outputs.

Generate object-oriented software using the appropriate programming language (C#) to control test station or test system assets used to apply stimulus and measure outputs.

Perform troubleshooting as required to determine failure conditions during development and reported by end users.

Usage of LifeCycle DevOps.

Use of revision control software for all source and document data.

Perform software validation and verification testing.

Travel and customer interface may be required.

The ability to work within a group and individual environment.

Assist in mentoring inexperienced engineers in gaining knowledge in tactical and airborne APS development.

Hard Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science (BSCE, BSEE or BSCS)

  • Minimum 15+ years’ experience with Test and Measurement and software-defined architectures, including object-oriented design

  • Experience with software development in C#

  • Ability to demonstrate Object Oriented Design practices

  • Knowledge in performing root cause analysis and recommending correct action to resolve test failures

  • Extensive experience with using communication and/or bench test equipment including but not limited to spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators

  • Knowledge and ability to demonstrate the understanding and methods of RF measurements

  • Must be a US person

Soft Skills

  • Ability to work within a group and individual environment

  • Mentoring inexperienced engineers

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Orlando, Florida.

Work Environment

9/80 schedule (every other Friday is an OFF Friday)

Travel and customer interface may be required.
