Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. Senior Engineering Technician in Orlando, Florida
Geo-Technology Associates, Inc. (GTA) is currently hiring a full-time Senior Engineering Technician for our Orlando, Florida office. Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of experience conducting special inspections of threshold buildings and meet one of the following qualifications:
Hold a degree in civil engineering or architecture
Possess one or more of the following certifications:
ACI Concrete Special Inspector
ICC Masonry Special Inspector
ICC Structural Steel Special Inspector
Senior Engineering Technician Responsibilities Include:
Verify construction is being completed in accordance with all plans and specifications
Perform inspections, sampling and testing
Coordinate with clients, general contractors, and GTA Project Managers
Maintain accurate documentation through daily field reports
Assist in preparing technical reports and special inspection summaries
Senior Engineering Technician Job Requirements:
Own reliable transportation, valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record
Authorized to work in the U.S. (Visa sponsorship not available)
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. unaided and up to 100 lbs. with assistance; frequent bending, hammering and other repetitious movements
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Adobe
GTA will supply you with the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a high-visibility vest, hard hat, gloves, and safety glasses. Compensation is hourly, with overtime paid at 1.5 times your regular hourly rate. Work hours are calculated from your arrival at the office in the morning until your departure in the evening, excluding lunch breaks. Travel mileage for trips between the office and job sites is reimbursed at the current IRS rate (currently $0.67 per mile).
PLEASE NOTE: This role may involve prolonged periods of standing and repetitive motions such as lifting or hammering. The employee must be able to perform tasks requiring the use of hands for handling, grasping, or feeling, as well as activities such as reaching, climbing, balancing, crouching, stooping, crawling, kneeling, and sitting. Additionally, the position requires visual and sensory abilities, including close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to focus, and the ability to detect smells.
