Job Description
The Project Scheduler will work across SoarTech projects helping maintain and support Program Management Office (PMO) operations. Candidates for this role are highly skilled in Microsoft (MS) Projects and its capabilities. This position will manage complex schedules and workflows in MS Projects, and partner with Program Managers, Scientists, and Engineers to ensure program execution. Duties and Responsibilities
Working with Program Managers, Scientist, Engineers, and Financial Analyst utilizing MS Project to establish an integrated master schedule (IMS), manage schedule status, perform critical path analysis, and slack management, perform schedule analysis & metrics, and communicate clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
Identify and mitigate potential project risks and develop contingency plans as needed.
Monitor and control project progress, identifying and addressing deviations from the project plan.
Collaborate with program managers, team members, and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables meet quality and scope requirements.
Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and status reports.
Working with PMO teammates to support development of common tools, processes and training related to schedule development, integration, analysis, and maintenance.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience
Advanced knowledge of MS Suite of tools specifically MS Project & Excel.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, or a related field.
At least five (5) years’ experience in a technical, business, military, or U.S. Government Contractor environment.
Familiarity with Waterfall and Agile frameworks.
Ability to solve problems creatively.
Familiarity with project management methodologies and best practices.
Experience with assisting & coordinating technical projects through the full life cycle.
Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
Ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Critical Path Analysis and Slack Management.
Variance Analysis.
EVMS Concepts including Analysis and Corrective Actions.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DOD) Security Clearance.
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
An advanced degree in computer science, business, or a related field.
Schedule risk analysis.
Risk and opportunity management.
Manpower planning.
Familiar with work breakdown structure.
Certified from PMI as a PMI-SP (PMI Scheduling Professional) or equivalent.
An active Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance.
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Ability to travel for work.
