Key Responsibilities

The Village of Orland Park, a dynamic, progressive community seeks a responsible individual to join the Recreation and Parks Department as a full-timeServices Representative . This position is responsible for greeting and assisting visitors and participants; routing calls to other staff members and departments, accurately responding to phone and email inquiries; and performing other clerical duties which support both the Recreation and Parks Department and Sportsplex operations. This valued team member will assist in registering participants for Recreation and Parks Department programs, Orland Park resident IDs, sell/process Sportsplex, dog park, and Centennial Park Aquatic Center memberships, and book and issue contracts for facility and equipment rentals.

This important role is also responsible for running monthly accounts receivable statements and distributing to the appropriate supervisor for review; collecting monthly membership dues and scheduled program fees by processing credit card payments; following up on declined/expired credit card payments; reconciling and depositing daily transactions, special event monies, performing daily account balancing, downloading journal entries to appropriate Village staff/departments; and internet registrations. Attendance at some Village special events is required.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

High school diploma or GED is required. One to three years prior customer service experience in an office or related recreation environment is required.

Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week generally Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.

CPR certification is required within 90 days of employment.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to maintain confidential information and establish positive working relationships with others. It is important that this individual demonstrates a courteous demeanor in stressful situations, work within time constraints and meet established deadlines. Must have strong interpersonal and organizational skills with a friendly, service-minded attitude. Strong math, cash handling, and computer skills are required including Word, Excel, Outlook. Knowledge of ActiveNet software is preferred, but not necessary.

Compensation & Benefits

This position has a salary eligible for $48,769.15 - $67,142.08 annually, depending on qualifications. This full-time, IOUE position offers a comprehensive benefits program which includes medical, dental, and vision insurance provided through the IUOE Health and Welfare Trust.
