Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary: This position is for an Occupational Therapist in our Level III NICU. The Occupational Therapist shall be responsible for providing a full range of occupational therapy services including assessment, treatment planning and therapeutic interventions in a team environment consistent with the position's qualifications, professional practices and ethical standards. The incumbent shall also demonstrate accountability for and contribution to program development, quality improvement, problem solving and productivity enhancement in a flexible team fashion.

Minimum Requirements:

• Masters Degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited College or University.

• Current Utah Occupational Therapist license

• Basic life support (BLS or BCLS) required within 7 days of hire

• National Board Certification for Occupational Therapists (NBCOT) preferred

• Certified Neonatal Therapist (CNT) preferred

Additional Skills:

• A minimum of 2 years of pediatric (infant focused) experience is required for this position; NICU experience preferred. In-depth understanding of development, sensory integration and feeding therapy is highly preferred. Experience performing or comprehending results from a Modified Barium Swallow Study (MBSS) is recommended.

• The applicant must be self driven, engaged, possess good communication skills and able to collaborate with other medical professionals in the NICU environment. The incumbent shall be expected to perform duties of position with minimal supervision from management.
