Primary Purpose

Performs and owns maintenance activities for the incinerator. Works closely with plant operations, engineering, E&I and mechanics to troubleshoot, plan and repair plant equipment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.

  • Plant maintenance including general repairs and replacement of pumps, valves, piping and hoses as needed. Basic pipefitting including threading.

  • Coordinate work with other departments to minimize impact to production. Communication with other departments is crucial.

  • Provide leadership in troubleshooting maintenance problems to minimize equipment and systems downtime and meet production objectives. Inspect completed job tasks to ensure equipment/systems are operating efficiently and safely.

  • Perform PMs on plant mechanical equipment, including lubrication of pumps, motors and other equipment as needed.

  • Analyze and recommend improvements/modifications of existing equipment and systems to enhance operations. Determine practical methods of performing non-routine tasks.

  • Must be willing and able to work shift work, extended hours, including nights, weekends and call out as needed.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or its equivalent with 3-5 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance or Technical schooling in mechanical discipline is required. General knowledge of mechanical and process maintenance is required.

Knowledge and Abilities: General knowledge of rotary kiln and RCRA disposal operations is preferred. General understanding of industrial maintenance, quality control, and regulations is required. Welding and cutting skills are a plus. Good Communication and problem-solving skills preferred. Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of this position.
