As a IR ONWORKER HELPER for our PICCO District at our CP CHEM PROJECT in Orange, Texas , you will contribute to our team by:
Must be able to pass full DISA background.
Must have Basic Plus or Basic Refresher or Safety Essential
Must pass Disa Hair follicle, Drug and Alcohol test.
Craft Test required (top helpers only) if not NCCER certified within specified craft.
Safe use of Hand & Power Tools.
Work safely at all times and promote safety to others around you.
Strong working knowledge of and experience working with structural steel.
Perform quality work as determined by the project specifications.
Accountable for all tools and materials at the end of your shift.
Assist immediate supervisor with aligning future tasks to be completed.
Must work well as part of a team.
Keep a clean work area.
Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
Selects type and size of structural steel and related materials according to the job specifications.
Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers.
Cuts structural steel using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer and chisel, or cutting torch.
Prioritize tasks according to job schedule.
What you will bring to the role:
Experience in the industrial Ironworking industry (petrochemical, power plant, cement plant) or related field, with four or more years of experience as an Ironworker.
Strong math knowledge and skills as related to the job tasks.Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately.
Able to use torch cutting equipment.
Knowledge of connecting, placing, rigging, joining, and cutting structural steel.
Knowledge of rigging skills, rigging procedures, OSHA standards, and be able to handle and install large steel components.
Knowledge of the various sizes of structural shapes, fasteners, grating, and metal sheeting.
Able to read and understand structural drawings.
Able to read and understand weld symbols.
Successfully complete the appropriate PCL skills assessment tests.
