Summary

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Load semi-trailers with crane and forklift. Step deck trailers, flat deck trailers, containers.

Prepare loads with crane and forklift

Use forklift to bring subframes in from outside- exposed to elements

Use crane to stage truck bodies for loads and prepare frames for loads

Must be able to climb up and down ladders often

Using ladder, safely climb on top of loads that reach heights of 136while using required PPE

Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds

Match sales orders to the Bill of Lading or Load sheet

Make sure loads are safe and secure

Keep shipping area and loading dock clean and free from hazards

Use forklift to stage smaller parts for loads and retrieve parts from other departments as needed

Inspect quality of orders being shipped prior to their departure

May be asked to assist in other areas as needed

QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of LN and Logistics software.

Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsAbility to pass forklift written and driving test.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understandin to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
