Job Summary and Essential Job Duties

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Senior/Lead Maintenance Technician to join our team. The Senior/Lead Maintenance Technician ensures equipment operates at peak performance through troubleshooting and repairs. Leads a maintenance team, minimizing downtime and improving operational efficiency. Focus is on maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the performance of equipment in an industrial setting. Key tasks include working on mechanical, electrical, and PLC systems, as well as leading and mentoring a maintenance team.

Through On the Job Training (OJT), lead maintenance technician will:

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues in equipment such as pumps, motors, and other mechanical components to maintain optimal performance.

  • Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on electrical systems, PLCs, and other industrial machinery.

  • Interpret and work with technical drawings, schematics, and manuals to effectively address problems.

  • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure minimal downtime and high equipment efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols, company standards, and industry regulations during all maintenance activities.

  • Provide technical support and training to team members on mechanical, electrical, and PLC-related processes.

  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.

  • Lead and mentor junior technicians, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable maintenance team.

  • Proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and implement preventive maintenance programs.

  • Communication with Machine Manufacturers on new machinery install/warranties as well as service tech visits.

    Advancement through the Maintenance Technician ranks is attained via increasing levels of education, experience, industrial skills, math skills, computing skills, responsibility and leadership potential and effectiveness.

    Education Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree or technical certification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred. HS Diploma/GED is required.

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience in mechanical troubleshooting and maintenance in an industrial setting.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLC programming, and controls.

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing pumps, motors, and other mechanical components.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Leadership experience, with the ability to guide and motivate a team effectively.

  • Familiarity with safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and industrial maintenance best practices.

  • Certification or training in related fields (e.g., PLC programming, electrical systems) is an asset.

  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

    Other Skills and Experience:

  • This role may involve working in industrial or manufacturing settings with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery.

  • Physical requirements include lifting heavy objects, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.

  • Large portion of the job is in ISO 6 and 7 cleanroom environments requiring gowning procedures.

  • Tools and equipment for tasks are provided by employer.
