Pay Rate:$77,625.00- $103,500.00

Job Summary:

The Shipping and Receiving Manager will be responsible for overseeing duties inherent to the position to facilitate the seamless operation of a company's warehouses to assure safety, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness with the best use of resources and promoting a high level of performance to meet all customer and plant requirements and. The Shipping and Receiving Manager may be required to perform any or all of the job duties listed below.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Education & Experience:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervises the activities of the personnel in all day-to-day operations to achieve efficient labor utilization or production requirements and priorities. Work with Departmental (Shipping & Receiving) Supervisors to ensure a sufficient staff level according to Business seasonality is maintained.

  • Ensure that shipments are processed promptly, accurately, and stored correctly.

  • Work with Supervisory Team to ensure records of all incoming and outgoing shipments are being maintained accurately.

  • Ensure products are stocked correctly and inventory levels are maintained accurately.

  • Assist in weekly and monthly physical inventory.

  • Ensure that departments are verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against invoices, orders, or other records.

  • Implement safety procedures and standards in handling of goods.

  • Negotiate shipping and freight rates with carriers.

  • Implement cost-reduction initiatives in shipping and receiving processes.

  • Coordinate returns of merchandise and managing claims for damaged goods.

  • Utilize logistics IT to optimize procedures.

  • Prepare shipping documents and labeling packages for shipment.

  • Inspect loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.

  • Handle and resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipping and receiving in a timely manner.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the warehouse.

  • Fill in key jobs during personnel shortage or scheduled break.

  • Coach and follow up on employees to ensure personnel achieves maximum output.

  • Oversees adherence to programs involving materials, packaging and vehicle loading.

  • Lead Safety initiatives in the departments as needed.

  • Responsible for proper procedures for accident reporting, methods, and investigation.

  • Ensure that posting for shipments is done timely.

  • Manage regularly the good condition of Trailers, Trucks and Forklift.

  • Supervise the dispatching of trucks to convey freight to assigned destinations in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Track drivers via computer systems.

  • Review driver assignments, delivery time and other transportation data to evaluate driver performance.

  • Coordinate with Corporate Logistics to ensure drivers are educated and compliant with DOT, state, and local regulations.

    Education:

  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; however, a bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is highly preferred.

  • Proven experience in shipping and receiving or warehouse management.

  • Strong knowledge of logistics and inventory software.

  • Knowledge of D365 and Warehouse Advance System is preferred.

  • Understanding of compliance regulations and safety procedures in warehouse settings.

    Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience is required in a manufacturing shipping & receiving/warehouse environment.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of warehousing, packing and shipping practices as well as inventory management

  • Must be competent in areas of leadership, team building, coaching, communication, decision making and problem solving

  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communication with internal customers

  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing excellent customer service

  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

  • Must be bilingual: Spanish/English (CA facilities)

  • Have a general understanding of DOT compliance regulations

  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; maintains a clean and organized work environment.

  • Quantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.

  • Safety - Observes all safety procedures and policies; Reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor; Uses equipment and materials properly.

  • Exceptional attention to detail.

  • Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
