Aston Carter Assistant Buyer in Ontario, California

Under the direction of the Purchasing Manager, plays a vital role in supporting the procurement department by assisting Buyer II, Buyer III, and other professionals in sourcing and purchasing goods, products, and services for the organization. The primary responsibility is to ensure the on-time fulfillment of customer orders categorized as high priority. This role requires meticulous coordination, proactive communication, and effective critical thinking skills.

  • Assist Buyers in researching, evaluating, and selecting vendors and supplies based on pricing, quality, availability, and reliability

  • Identify and categorize customer orders that fall under the "High Alert" status based on predetermined criteria, such as urgency, customer importance, or specific requirements.

  • Collaborate with the purchasing team to ensure these orders receive immediate attention.

  • Regularly update stakeholders, highlighting potential delays or opportunities.

  • Work closely with sales, production, logistics, purchasing, and customer experience teams for seamless coordination.

  • Communicate special requirements related to High Alert orders.

  • Maintain open communication with Customer Experience Reps, providing updates on escalated challenges.

  • Address concerns or inquiries promptly and professionally.

  • Vendor communication

  • Liaise with vendors to expedite procurement and on-time delivery for High Alert orders.

  • Coordinate special arrangements for tight deadlines, delivery schedules, or specific customer needs.

  • Ensure procurement documentation compliance with company policies.

  • Generate regular reports summarizing High Alert order fulfillment performance.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Bachelor degree in degree supply chain management (preferred) not required

  • 1-2 years of experience in a procurement or purchasing related position

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Detailed attention oriented

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00
